In a delightful rendezvous at the Birsa Munda Airport, the charismatic Lt Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni, accompanied by his wife Sakshi and daughter Jeeva, came to see our vibrant tribal handicrafts. This enchanting encounter unfolded as Dhoni embarked on a journey to Chennai for the grand launch of his company's Tamil film, 'LGM' (Let's Get Married).
Captivated by the allure of the Santha's tribal artistic creations, our Founder Mrs Suchitra humbly presented the remarkable handiwork of tribal artisans, gifting Dhoni and his wife with a mesmerizing piece of Sabar Handicraft.
Santha's manufacturing partner Kraft Tribe Producer Company is a collective of 216 skilled artisans. To provide a platform for these talented individuals, self-help groups are allocated stalls at the Birsa Munda Airport under the visionary 'Awsar' initiative. Spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this scheme aims to empower tribal and primitive tribe artisans residing in remote areas, granting them an opportunity to showcase and sell their exceptional creations.
NABARD, serving as the sponsor for the Kraft Tribe Stall (Santha's Parent Company), generously provided financial assistance to cover the expenses associated with setting up the display. Through this remarkable partnership, the artisans' remarkable works of art found the recognition they truly deserved.
Each piece of tribal handicraft showcased at the stall carries within it a story, meticulously crafted with dedication and love. These art forms are a testament to the rich traditions and soulful expressions of the tribes that have nurtured them for generations.
Lt Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni's visit to the stall not only demonstrated his unwavering support for indigenous artisans but also shed light on the immense value of preserving and promoting tribal handicrafts. It served as a poignant reminder of the exquisite beauty that lies within these traditional art forms and the profound impact they have on the lives and livelihoods of the artisans.
In a world consumed by mass production and fleeting trends, let us embark on a journey to appreciate and celebrate the timeless artistry of tribal handicrafts. By embracing these unique creations, we not only adorn our lives with their captivating beauty but also contribute to the sustenance and empowerment of these remarkable artisans and their communities.
As we revel in the splendor of tribal handicrafts, may we cherish the connections they forge between past and present, and may their vibrant colors and intricate patterns serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of our diverse cultural heritage.
